The 2026 MADE Buyers Forum, funded by the European Union, convened 320 participants, including 48 participants from international brands and retailers and approximately 100 factories, alongside labour rights organisations, civil society groups, business associations, and other key stakeholders. The event served as a multi-stakeholder platform to promote good practices and to address key challenges related to the adoption of responsible business practices across Myanmar’s garment, textile, and footwear industries
Particular discussions focused on progress towards decent work, improving sector wages, young worker protection, human rights due diligence, and sustainable factory practices—with a strong focus on practical collaboration. The Forum also featured a photo exhibition highlighting the voices of garment workers and showcasing good practices from MADE-affiliated factories—putting workers’ experiences, resilience and factory-level improvements firmly in the centre of discussions.
