
Child Labour Prevention & Remediation Training (Batch 9)
We are pleased to invite garment and footwear factories to participate in our upcoming Child Labour Prevention & Remediation Training, designed to strengthen compliance, improve workplace practices, and address one of the most critical risks facing the industry today.
Overview
This interactive workshop provides a comprehensive understanding of child labour from both a legal and practical perspective in Myanmar. It integrates national legislation with international standards, including ILO conventions and OECD guidelines, to support factories in building responsible and compliant operations.
Special focus is given to:
- Myanmar Child Rights Law (2019)
- Myanmar Factories Act (amended 2016)
Learning Objectives
Participants will gain the knowledge and tools to:
- Comply with national laws and international standards
- Prevent child labour (under age 16) and protect young workers (ages 16–17)
- Develop and implement effective policies and procedures
- Understand responsible and ethical remediation practices
- Strengthen workplace systems to avoid reputational risks
Course Contents
- Review of Child Rights Law and Factories Act
- Overview of international standards and conventions
- Factory experience sharing: challenges and practical solutions
- Policy development exercises and role-playing scenarios
- Building empathy and understanding of child labour issues
